Description

Pregnancy can bring with it many changes in the body. Massage therapy can help relieve some of the symptoms such as muscle tension from postural changes, relieve sore achy feel from fallen arches, reduce swelling in the legs and feet, help soothe tender breasts, and promote relaxation for a better night’s sleep. This massage treatment can help you feel more comfortable and relaxed in your changing body. Massage is safe for most expecting mothers, and with a thorough health history discussion and treatment plan we can determine if massage therapy is a good fit for you. Specific positioning is used during pregnancy. During the second and third trimester a side-lying position will be used to ensure baby is safe and comfortable. Prenatal massage uses a light-medium pressure, as deep tissue massage is contraindicated. Your comfort and safety is our #1 priority during the treatment. I have completed additional training in pregnancy massage through Trimesters Massage Therapy Education and Perinatal Massage Therapy Education. As well as Postpartum Lymphatic and Breast Care. These courses have taught me how to safely and effectively treat the prenatal and postpartum mother. *Please note, HST will be added to treatment fee.
